:: Buddhapadipa Thai Temple
Every member undertakes the following duties:
- To guide their lives according to the Three Refuges and Five Precepts.
- To study the Teaching of the Buddha and to practise Insight Meditation whenever possible.
- To help maintain the Bhikkhus (Venerable Monks) and to assist in spreading the Dhamma in at least one of the following ways:
- By giving Dana to the Monks of food or suitable clothing from time to time.
- By donations to the Temple funds to aid in the costs of public lectures and printing.
- By rending personal services such as transport for the Monks when they have to travel, lending a hand organising meetings in the Temple or in hired premises, cooking a meal, cleaning, gardening, minor repairs or decoration, typing out lectures or answering enquiries, etc.
Members endeavour to develop the tolerant spirit of Buddhism while helping others in any way they can, but always remembering that inner harmony and kindly example are better than efforts to proselytise.
