Guarantees

There are no guarantees in life. Sometimes we just have to take a leap of faith.

Right Mind

Right Mind in our practice leads the way for us to overcome suffering and to achieve spiritual freedom.

Change and Acceptance

We have to do our best in every situation as it occurs. We have to have the wisdom to differentiate between what can be changed and what must be accepted.  Whilst knowing that this too will pass.

Stillness

To be still is to be conscious without thought. When we are still we are beyond our temporal existence; consciousness--unconditioned and formless.

Real Life

Real life is the present moment and not found in memories of the past nor in dreams of the future.. One who lives in the present moment lives the real life.

Within

Real happiness is found within, and not to be defined in terms of wealth, power, honours or conquests.

Kamma

The present is the offspring of the past, and becomes, in turn, the parent of the future.

Taste For Yourself

Dont just go and believe in the teacher because he says a fruit is sweet and delicious. Taste it for yourself and then all the doubting will be over.

Thirst

As long as there is a thirst to be and to become the cycle of continuity ( Samsara) goes on. It can stop only when its driving force, this thirst, is cut off through wisdom which sees reality and truth.

Level and Balanced

Water always finds its own level, it is never slanted or leaning. It teaches us to go with the flow of life's changes and not to stagnate beneath the weight of our desires and opinions.

Reality

The ego loves its resentment of reality. What is reality ? Whatever is.

Ego

Do not fuel the drama anymore which is part of all egoic relationships. What is its fuel?  Re-activity, the ego thrives on it !

Refuge

Buddhists take refuge in the Buddha not out of fear of him, but to gain inspiration and right understanding for their self purification.

Recollection

The recollection of the Buddha produces joy, invigorates the mind and elevates men from states of restlessness, tension and frustration.

Great Love

Great love is the wish that all living beings, without exception, have happiness and the causes of happiness. It is the love that embraces all beings without discrimination.

Mind and Matter ( Nama-Rupa )

What is mind?  No matter. What is matter? Never mind.

Look Within

All growth is from within. This is evident in all nature. Every plant, every animal, every human being is a testimony to this great law. But in error we keep searching on the outside when we could be looking within.

Power

Without wisdom, power is blind. Without love, power is cold and self serving. Wisdom and love (Metta)  should be evident in our daily lives.

Desire

Dont spoil what you have by desiring what you dont have. Remember that what you now have was the thing you once wished for.

Distance

Dont hang out with angry people  because anger, like joy and gratitude, is contagious. We must keep our distance.

Wise words

There is a proverb; Anger is the wind that blows out the lamp of the mind.

Anger

Avoid anger like the plague. Anger completely wilts the most carefully cultivated garden of love.

Truth

When we open our minds to truth, we realize that there is nothing to fear. We see that what arises passes away and is not self.

Dhamma Practice

Dhamma practice is not restricted to certain times and places. In one form or another, it is always possible right here and right now.

Life

The nature of life brings highs and lows and twists and turns. If we can always react to life's  changes  by following the Middle Way then these occurrences become easier to deal with.

Change

We can all change for the better through meditation and by living our lives with the Five Precepts as our guide.
