Cleaning Day
Written by Upasika Lynne
Although the weather was changeable, many devotees arrived early in the morning ready and willing to work. Some opted to work in the gardens, clearing the weeds, sweeping the paths, pruning the bushes and clearing the lake. Others cleaned and polished the interior of the temple. The monks also helped when they could. Everyone was busy at some job or another. They were all ready for the scrumptious lunch that was served at noon. Then it was back to work until dinner at five. Everyone worked lightheartedly and so much got done and an enjoyable day was had by all. It proved the old saying, that many hands make light work.Leave a Reply
