Meeting Of Tbsuk, At 3Pm On March 9Th, 2011 At Buddhapadipa Temple

It can be said that this general meeting is short and precise; it goes straight to the point.

The first issue raised is about the main Vesak celebration in Thailand, which is going to be held by Mahachulalongkorn Buddhist University on 12th 13th and 14th May. The next w…as that TBSUK should be recognized by other Buddhist Orders, or communities, or schools and Phrakru Panyasudhammavites (Ajahn Loa) raised this idea to the working committee. It was accepted and now it is in the process of invitation and selecting who is going to be a representative of TBSUK to go to the Vesak celebration. Ajahn Vajiro said that he would consider it if there was an invitation to him.

The second issue is about the Buddha Jayanti Celebration, which will be held by London Buddhist Vihara, Srilankan Temple, at Hammersmith Town Hall on 29th May. Ajahn Seelawimala said that there would be a variety of Buddhist traditional performances, Srilankan, Chinese, and Thai etc. So a lot of help is needed for this big celebration.

Finally, the meeting went well to an end; some issues were sorted out, but some still need time, unity, harmony and good co-operation. Therefore, we need to meet, brainstorm and share our ideas from time to time. Then members of Sangha paid respect to Luangpor Khemadhammo as a gesture of closing the meeting.
