Thai Adoption Blessing

It is an auspicious day again and Thai adoption organization manages to come to the temple to get blessing. I always say, "It is a good thing to do so that children can learn their own culture and religion". It is a good opportunity for them to learn their own culture and religion and where they came from. The temple is always their home.

It is nice for me to welcome children and give them blessing; even if it is once a year. This time, I taught them the meanings of Buddhist alter and the artifacts. All have meanings, it is good to know, not just sit in front of it without knowledge. It is good to know what we are doing, what we respect, what we believe. Children always seem happy and feel safe and sound in the temple; I have heard that they love to come to the temple. It is like their homeland, where they come from. The temple is their country and belief.

In reality, children adopt their new life and culture, or a new way of life. They adopt something new every day. It is true because what we all learn and practice today are around us physically and mentally. We just adopt it into our life, for our children we can select the best things for them. Culture, religion and way of life are just choices for us to choose; whatever we like, we just adopt it and whatever is not suitable for us, we leave it for others, they may like it.
