The Funeral Of Phrakru Silanandha

Phrakru Silanandha was a Dhammaduta monk, resident at Buddhapadipa for 25 years. Due to his age and failing health, he retired a couple of years ago and returned to Thailand for good. During his retirement, Buddhapadipa remained close to his heart and he still managed to travel back to the UK for short visits to the temple.

Last year his health deteriorated rapidly. Sadly, he pasted away peacefully in Thailand on the 30th of December 2006, while in hospital.

In honouring such a great individual, The Buddhapadipa Temple, together with those who knew him attended his funeral held on the 6th January 2007. Four monks chanted the Abhidhamma and PK Lom gave a talk on the life and achievements of Phrakru Silanandha. On the day following the funeral, Dana was offered for the Sangha and merits dedicated to him.

May he find peace and contentment wherever he may be.
