On 28th October Wat Thai Munich hosted a Kathina celebration. Ajahn Denchai, the abbot, invited Phramaha Sangtong and Phramaha Sawat from the Buddhapadipa temple in Wimbledon, accompanied by Phramaha Wisit, the abbot of Dhammapadipa temple in Edinburgh.

The venue was in a nearby hall so as to accommodate the many people that attended.
In all ten monks attended the ceremony including the guest speaker a well known and respected monk from Thailand. The monks chanted and gave blessings to all before being served lunch. The people had prepared many delicacies for them.

After which the guest speaker, Phrarajdhammavadi gave a Dhamma talk. His manner of speaking made easy listening for his audience and his humour caused them to laugh a lot.
He said there are different kinds and variations of belief and proceeded to compare them to many things such as falling rain, falling money and falling food etc.

There was food on sale and religious mementos and gifts and authentic Thai goods to purchase. Thai traditional music was played and enjoyed by all. Thai traditional dance was performed by graceful dancers in traditional, colourful dress.

The day was a successful day enjoyed by all who attended. The following day the visiting monks stayed at Wat Thai Munich and met friends old and new. Phramaha Sangthong was happy to perform the wedding blessing ceremony for a couple who had travelled all the way from Rumania.
