Wedding Blessing

A couple is from Rumania and have been corresponding with Phramaha Sangthong by email for a year to learn the teachings of the Buddha. They have been interested for many years and as this is unavailable to them in their country, they were happy when they found the Buddhapadipa website.

In June of this year they were married, having known each other since they were six years old. They longed to have their wedding blessed by a Buddhist ceremony and were delighted when an opportunity arose, enabling them to do just that.

Phramaha Sangthong was visiting Wat Thai Munich and so they drove 2000 Kilometres from their home for the blessing. And so it was on Sunday 29^th October they arrived and met the monk for the first time and the blessing was performed. It was a moving ceremony as they sat with crowns of white flowers in their hair while the monks chanted.

Phramaha Sangthong gave them a short talk about the responsibilities in marriage and saying how they should have compatible confidence in each other so as to create a happy family life. Following the ceremony they all talked together and gave gifts to the monk. They then left, wanting time to absorb, what had been a truly meaningful and memorable day for them both.
