In a blaming culture, if something goes wrong, it's always the fault of some one else. “It is her or his fault, it is not mine” is often heard from this community. This entire thing comes from forming opinions about things, and there is no acceptance about what has been happening. This can be called selfishness or egotism.
Those who cultivate this culture within, will cause problems to themselves and others around them. Blaming does not help anything and it is inappropriate. On the contrary, it destroys unity or harmony and adds more troubles to the one who blames.
What are the characteristics of a blamer? The characteristics of blame consist of two things; firstly malice and hatred, and, secondly, faith with wrong understanding. These two can cause huge blame against one another. The Buddha also said that blame not only came from malice and hatred, but also from deep faith with wrong understanding, learning and practice.
What is the proper solution? The proper solution must be right understanding, springing from right learning and practice. So we must allow ourselves to learn the good teachings and practise the right methods. We may get help from the wise teachers who have experience, and think about or consider what we are learning and practising as well. We must experience, or experiment it, until we ourselves can understand completely. This is the only way, and it is worth doing. As in this very world, people are learning and practising dangerous subjects such how to earn money, make a living, whatever, we are being taught to beat others for things we want. And they are taught to earn more than they need. So there are a lot of problems and blame, now.
Stop blaming, and work together in peace and harmony. Let us think; if we find ourselves being blamed; how painful and depressed we will feel. We must remember that blame is almost always inappropriate. We should not do it; blaming ourselves or others, is only adding more and more trouble to ourselves or others. Learning the right things and practising the right methods are a far better choice, which keeps us away from the blaming culture.
